Archer Hewitt
Ambitious and driven, Archer is one of the youngest senior managers at his company. He runs a tight ship with almost ruthless efficiency, earning the enmity of those who fall afoul of his blunt nature and the loyalty of those who respect his hardworking attitude. While born in the United States, he lived in a boarding school in England for much of his young life and retains the vestiges of the accent and speech patterns he picked up there. His general agreement with the Republican Party's fiscal conservatism and promotion of personal responsibility is matched by his competitive desire to force his way into a club that won't have him.

Todd Yale
Todd is Archer's life partner and emotional ballast. Laid back and spontaneous to Archer's uptight and meticulous, Todd is probably the only person who could put up with Archer 24/7. The Italian side of Todd's family moved to the United States in the early 20th century and adopted Anglo-Saxon names in order to assimilate. Sent to Harvard to major in corportate tax law, the creative and easily bored Todd started a relationship-ending feud with his father when he switched his major to History and began submitting his writing to publishers. He now earns a living as a novel and screenplay writer.

Dierdre Yale
Todd's cousin on his father's side. Dee is fond of saying that she collects labels, and calls herself the Goth Femme Dyke Liberal Computer Scientist Student. Bright and goal-oriented, Dee is currently in pursuit of her Ph.D. in Computer Science, which she plans to leverage for an astoundingly lucrative career. She also has strong political convictions, and plans to use her earnings to help fund social improvements for the less fortunate. And to buy lots of really cool techno gadgets.

Rand Devereaux
Born to a French Creole family in Louisiana, Rand moved to Chicago to "figure some shit out" and then to New England, where zie has carved out a niche as a local playwright (not, mind you, for any kind of money). Rand's gender is about as fluid (and absent) as hir sexuality, prompting the name change to Random, and if hir bio could be completely pronoun-free that would suit hir just fine. Along with a few friends zie is part of a street-theater troupe wherein zie plays the character known as The Genderqueer. By day Rand earns a living as a social worker, providing services to queer youth of all stripes.
