A couple more reviews for the new PiQue collection from Northwest Press have come in:
The Lambda Literary Review says it’s “an insightful, humorous and unique comic.”
Over at Panel Patter, they declare it to be “a fun, clever story, somewhat akin to a drawing room comedy.”
And don’t forget the Queers & Comics Conference, which is nearly upon us. It’s this Thursday and Friday, May 7-8, at CLAGS: Center for LGBTQ Studies, 365 Fifth Avenue, Room 7115, New York, New York 10016.
I’m on three panels: May 7 it’s Queer Memoir from 9:00 – 10:45 AM, and Trans/Genderqueer Character Design from 2:15 – 4:00 PM. Then I’ll be signing at the Prism Comics booth from 4:00 – 5:00 PM.
May 8 I’ll be signing from 3:00 – 4:00 PM, then speaking on the Queer Male Identity in Comics panel from 4:15 – 6:00 PM.
On Saturday, May 9, you can hear me read some excerpts from PiQue. I’ll be at the School of Visual Arts (133-141 W. 21 St., Rm 101C), along with 30-odd other comix folk, to do a big ol’ queer comics reading. The event goes from 1:30 – 3:30. Details here.
See you soon, New York!
Cheers,
Dylan
