MEANWHILE. I will be at the ol’ Emerald City Comic Book Symposium this weekend, March 2-5, tabling with Northwest Press once again. You can find us at booth 1719.

I will have a NEW MINICOMIC by jiminy:

This one contains my trans/ace comic what was published on The Nib last year, and also this one from PEN America, and a couple of sketch comics about my trip to a trans bar in Japan.

Anyhow, ECCC will mark the debut of this mini, so this is your first chance to snag it. I urge you to do so!

Emerald City Comic Con is nigh

Heading out to Seattle today for Emerald City Comic Con! In general you’ll be able to find me and/or my books at the Northwest Press booth #1227.

I’m also on two panels: Queercopia on Saturday April 9 from 2:45-3:45 PM, and Queer Comics for Kids and Teens on Sunday April 10 from 1:15-2:15 PM. Both are in room T305. Look, the ECCC website even has a handy list.

So yeah, come to the thing!

Oh, pee ess: extra secret start date for Valley of the Silk Sky chapter 6 is April 20. TELL NO ONE. [does that thing where I point to my eyes and then your eyes and then my eyes again]

Emerald City Comic Con approaches!

Yikes, ECCC is kicking off in just over a week! It’ll go from April 7-10, 2016.

I’ll be tabling with Northwest Press at booth 1227 all weekend, so that’s where you should head to find my books and my new minicomics.

Wait, what? New minicomics? Yes indeed! I’ll have copies of QAT Person, a collection of autobio comics about being Queer, Asexual, and Trans. Also copies of the Ugly Little Beast, but I haven’t prepped the cover image for web yet (sad trombone etc.).

I’ll be reading from QAT Person at the Queercopia panel on Saturday, 2:45-3:45, room T305. And don’t forget the Queer Comics for Kids and Teens panel on Sunday from 1:15-2:15, also in room T305.

Meanwhile, inking proceeds apace on chapter 6 of Valley of the Silk Sky. Realistic start date is April 20, fantasy I Got Stuff Done Faster Than I Thought start date is April 13. But this chapter has a lot of detailed environments, so I’m not holding my breath for coloring to go quickly. Should hopefully be pretty to look at when it’s done, though!

Old Ghosts page 7, and ECCC news

In further Old Ghosts news, the pencils are DONE. Oh my yes. I still have 10-ish pages to ink and 27-ish pages to color, but the uphill part of the process is finished, which is a huge relief to me. I’ve only been working on this story since 2003. (Yep. Two-thousand-effing-three.)

So! Emerald City Comic Con. I will be there, at the Northwest Press booth (#912). Come get your copies of Transposes and/or QU33R signed. Purchase original art from either of these. Eyeball the printouts I made of Old Ghosts pages in their sort-of current state, if you want to peep the story faster than a page a week. All of these things and more are to be had in Seattle this weekend, March 28-30, 2014. See you there!
