An Anthology of Anthology Announcements

An Anthology of Anthology Announcements published on
We're Still Here all-transgender comics anthology

I’m excited to announce that We’re Still Here, the all-trans comic anthology in which I have a short story, has been nominated for a Lambda Literary Award! If you haven’t already snagged a copy of this book, you can do so from Stacked Deck Press.

I realize I’m biased and all, but this really is an excellent collection of comics offering a multitude of perspectives of the trans experience.

Monster Journey all-trans masculine anthology

I also just got my comps of the Monster Journey anthology, featuring monster-themed stories by trans masc creators. This is not yet generally available, but I will have a very (VERY) small number available for sale at DiNK in April. I have a brand new Valley of the Silk Sky short story in here, of which $1+ Patrons have gotten some work-in-progress peeks. Soon you’ll be able to read the whole darn thing!

Meanwhile, I just got the rights back to my short story, Ace Pilot, that was originally published in the Dark Horse anthology Secret Loves of Geeks. So my next webcomic serialization will be that story. Starting Monday, March 11, $1+ Patrons will get early access to the comic, and it’ll go up for the general public on Thursdays.

Finally, I’m still working on coloring my Valley of the Silk Sky short story, “Medicine; Run,” that was originally published in the Beyond Anthology. $1+ Patrons have been getting sneak peeks at that work in progress as well, natch. I’m about 75% done, so still on track to release it as a minicomic in time for DiNK. I’ll also be running it as a webcomic once Ace Pilot wraps up.

In other words, lots of comics coming your way!

Valley of the Silk Sky

Ordinarily I’d have posted this page on Thursday, but I will be thoroughly ensconced in San Diego Comic Con at that point, so instead enjoy this Tuesday night update.

“Can you not schedule posts?”

Er, I mean, probably? But I’m not sure how on this particular setup? So EARLY UPDATE IT IS:

I DO know how to schedule posts on Patreon and Tumblr, so those will post on Thursday as per usual.

Anyhow, here’s a reminder of where I shall be at SDCC:

The San Diego Comic Book Concern and Entertainment Emporium (July 18-22, 2018)

Small Press L-05 is where I’ll be camped out in general throughout the week. Come buy some comics!

I am also on two panels:

Transformation Magic: Transgender Life in Comics from Street Level to the Stratosphere – Thursday, July 19, 6:00 PM – Room 28DE

Also, I believe Tara will be there with Stacked Deck Press and fresh, new copies of We’re Still Here, the all-trans anthology I’m in, so come to the panel on Thursday to find out more.

Secret Loves of Geeks – Sunday, July 22, 11:00 AM – Room 32AB

I’ll also be doing a signing at the Dark Horse Comics booth, along with several other creators featured in the Secret Loves of Geeks anthology, just after the Secret Loves of Geeks panel, from 12:30 – 1:15 on Sunday, July 22. This would be a great time to snag some sigs on your copy of the book!

Ha ha, I’m already tired just thinking about it.

See you there!

Dylan

We're Still Here trans comics anthology

My current project is my comic for the all-trans We’re Still Here anthology, and you can back the Kickstarter for it even now!

This 300+ page tome is, believe it or not, the first (that we know of) comics anthology dedicated exclusively to trans comics and trans creators. And there are a ton of great folks included: Melanie Gillman, Sophie LaBelle, Sybil Lamb, Ajuan Mance, Annie Mok, L Nichols, Ronnie Richie, Bishakh Som, Scout Tran-Caffee, and tons more.

Added bonus: both of the editors (Jeanne Thornton and Tara Avery) are trans, and the publisher, Stacked Deck Press, is trans-owned and operated. So every penny goes to support trans folks!

I’m doing an autobio piece about my trip last fall to a Japanese trans guy bar. Folks who pledge a dollar or more a month to my Patreon are being treated to work-in-progress images.

So if you wanna peep some process pix, put in a pledge!

And don’t forget to back the Kickstarter and help make this book a reality!

Cheers,

Dylan
